33 Weeks

Can you believe how fast this is going?  We’re already at 33 weeks.  Not much further to go.
Mason’s family all pulled together and started a college fund for Annabelle.  She’s so blessed to have such a loving family that’s thinking about her future.  I wonder if she’ll pick an in State college like CSU or if she’ll be a Harvard or Yale girl.  Whatever she decides, we’ll be proud of her.
We had our 32 week appointment last week.  The doctor says everything’s looking great.  My blood pressure, iron levels, and weight gain are all perfect.  We now have appointments every other week since we’re getting closer.  Our due date is still 1/31 but the doctor thinks we could be 1-2 weeks ahead of that.  They always say it could be 2 weeks before or after the date they give you.  We’ll just have to wait and see.
As we start getting ready for Christmas, I can’t help but think how things are going to be so different next year.  I’m so excited that we’ll be able to take Annabelle to see Santa and will have a new kind of family picture for our Christmas cards.  I think about all the family traditions we can share with her and all the new family traditions we can start with her.  It’s so exciting!
Annabelle’s room is getting full fast.  It won’t be long and everything in there will be put to use.  Here are some pictures of her room now.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.

29 Weeks

We are starting our 29th week of pregnancy.  So far, so good.

We had an appointment on Friday where we had another ultrasound.  I think Annabelle is getting cuter and cuter every time.  I’m so excited to see her.  In her ultrasound pictures, I think she looks like Mason.  Mason says she looks like me.  I’ll let you judge for yourself.

Our appointment went well.  I had the dreaded glucose test which wasn’t as bad as some of the stories I’ve heard.  If you don’t know what this is, I’ll explain.  They make you drink this really sweet drink that tasted like an extra sweet Hawaiian punch. The doctor said it was an equivalent of eating 50 jelly beans.  Mason would have loved it.  After you drink it they make you sit there for an hour and then take your blood to make sure your body processed the sugar like it should.  The results came back good.  No gestational diabetes.

On Saturday we had our next baby class.  This one was a birthing class that went through breathing techniques, what to expect when we go into labor, tips on what we should bring to the hospital, birthing videos, etc.  I thought it was a good class.  Mason thought it was kinda long.  There was a lot learned (and some tearing up on my part).

We bought our first cloth diapers since I last posted to the blog.  We now have 6 diapers on hand.  We just need 30 more.  Mason and I even tested them out on a baby doll we have.  I hope Annabelle stays as still when we change her diaper.

To go with our new cloth diapers, Mason’s Dad bought Annabelle a new washer with a sanitary cycle.  It was delivered today and we already started using it.  It’s definitely going to get a lot of use with all those cloth diapers!!!

In the meantime Annabelle is getting stronger with her kicks.  Sometimes you can even see her moving around as my stomach shifts.  My nephew Kyle came up with a cute nickname for her.  He calls her my Annabelly.

We hope everyone is doing well.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

25 Weeks

We are now at 25 weeks.  Not much further to go.  With the Holidays coming, I’m sure it’s going to fly by and January will be here before we know it.
We had an appointment last week and another ultra sound.  The doctor says everything is looking good and Annabelle is on track to be a 6-7 pound baby!  We were able to get this really cute picture of her ear!  They were also able to make sure she’s a girl and that they weren’t wrong last time.

She didn’t want to turn around and give us a good face picture.  This was the best picture we could get of her face.  One picture we got was a look she gave that told us she was not happy with us poking her to get her to move.  She then turned away again.

Annabelle is moving more and more.  She really likes to move when I’m trying to sleep.  Between her moving and some lower back pain, sleep is sometimes hard to get.  I hear it will only get worse, so I apologize ahead of time if I seem sluggish.
Her room is coming along slowly but surely.  Mason’s mom gave us an old dresser we could refinish.  It’s white with colored flowers painted on the drawers.  After finding out we are having a girl, we decided not to refinish it.  We think the flowers will go good in her room.  We also got the changing table set up.

We start our first parenting classes this Saturday.  The more we look at baby stuff in the stores, the more I think we really need these classes.  There are things I just don’t know if we really need or in some cases how to use them.  Lots of excitement to come!

What a week!

We had a very busy and exciting week last week.  Last Sunday Mason got to feel the baby move for the first time.  The smile on his face was priceless!

On Monday we had another ultrasound.  The baby looks very healthy and everything is looking really good.  When the ultrasound tech went to see what the gender was, she had us turn away so we wouldn't know.  I saw Mason trying to peek, but even if he had, I don't think he would have known what he was looking at.

Our tech wrote in a card what the gender was and sealed it in an envelope.  I took it straight to the bakery on the way home.  They made us a cake that had either a Blue or Pink filling for a party we had Saturday.

On Thursday Mason put the flooring in for the baby's room and put together the crib.  It looks so nice!  We think baby may now have a nicer room than Mom and Dad have.   :)

OK, here's the part I'm sure everyone is waiting for.  On Saturday we had some Family and close Friends over for dinner.  After dinner, we cut into the cake.  It was so exciting and so worth the wait!  When we put the knife in for the first cut and pulled it out, there was pink filling all over it!  It's going to be a Girl!

Now we look forward to decorating little Annabelle's room for her arrival in January.  We also need to get all the "must haves" for when we bring her home.  If you have any tips on what we'll need, send them our way.

16 Weeks

I had my monthly appt with our doctor yesterday.  We listened to the heartbeat and the doctor said everything looks good.  He said that it's really strong. The heart rate was 142.

We still don't know if it's a boy or girl but will hopefully have the answer at the end of September.  We're so excited to find out!  If you're someone that doesn't want to know the gender until the baby is born, don't follow this blog until after that time.

I now have a few pairs of pants that I can't button and need a hair tie to help keep them shut.  It won't be long before I'll have to wear those ugly maternity pants.

My Dad and Lynda bought the baby a new crib.  I'm so excited to put it up!  Hopefully only a few more weeks and Mason's friend will move out and we can start getting the baby's room ready.

I'm posting one of the 3D ultrasound pics from our 12 week appt.  Enjoy!

My First Blog

I'm attempting to set up a blog so we can share all our baby news/photos with our family and friends.  Let's see if I'm savvy enough to get this to work.   :)

This is Sargent Baby at 12 weeks.
